French Removals

France continues to be very popular with our clients and with us.  Such a diverse country and with so many interesting properties means we always have a fresh experience. Many of our customers are fulfilling their dreams and this is a real pleasure to be a part of.

With European removals we can normally give a realistic cost after a chat on the phone although we do like to visit you before making a final commitment. There are too many things to consider to risk moving without being sure we all understand exactly what is required by both parties.

Typically every lorry will be manned by two HGV drivers which means they can travel greater distances in a day, staying safe as the driving will be shared on long journeys.

Schedules can be more complex with an overseas move, so we offer our clients moving to mainland Europe one free month of storage as part of our service, in order to allow your financial transfers to go through.

We make sure we continue to be aware of the latest European rules, such as:-

  • the paperwork requirements of the French called a “lettre de voiture”
  • breathalyzers to be carried while in France (this applies to cars as well as lorries and strangely does not carry a fine)
  • the new 2013 French “Ecotax” for all HGV lorries, (this is on hold now and who knows what will happen)
  • dealing with the toll charges, including the less obvious ones, levied on lorries throughout Europe

Brady, having lived in Germany and France back in the late 80s is conversant in both German and French, which always comes in handy when organising things en-route!

"I cannot recommend Wheadons highly enough. They made a difficult and distant move into a simple process for us with their professionalism, caring attitudes, and sense of humour. We were very lucky to have found them"
